Icons announce alternative venue to hold their June 10th and 11th shows

Just like Wembley only different

London, March 31st, 2006. -- Fans who have bought tickets to see Bon Jovi'sfirst tour in over 3 years will not be disappointed - they will still get tosee one of the world's greatest rock bands live!

Promoters AEG Live have confirmed that the two June dates, originally plannedfor Wembley Stadium, will now be taking place in the world renowned MiltonKeynes National Bowl. After contact with Wembley it is evident that the Stadiumwill not be ready for the Bon Jovi shows in June. Therefore to ensure that BonJovi's fans are not disappointed, AEG Live And Bon Jovi have decided to movethe shows to Milton Keynes.

Bon Jovi's success has been punctuated through the years by numerous sell outshows at The Bowl. It's therefore only fitting that they should return toUK's leading outdoor venue which has supported them throughout their careerand where they feel right at home.

"Having closed the original Wembley Stadium, it would have been a fittinghonor to open the new one," says Jon Bon Jovi. "However, the most importantelement was always the live concerts themselves. So while the location may havechanged, the celebration will remain the same. Thank you to our fans - for yourloyalty and your patience. We'll see you for two great nights of rock 'n' rollat Milton Keynes."

The HAVE A NICE DAY tour is the band's first in 3 years. The European leg willkick off in on May 13th in Germany moving onto Ireland and then Holland - withthe final stages here in the UK. Joining them on tour are Canadian rock bandNickelback who have stormed the charts on both sides of the Atlantic.

Hoje enviei um e-mail a Wembley, a questionar se vai ou não haver concerto em Junho. E segundo a resposta automática, devo saber algo dentro de 28 dias (isso mesmo, 28 dias!!!).

Mas enfim, a esperança é sempre a ultima a morrer (embora não tenha resultado muito ontem com o meu Sporting! LOL) e estou confiante numa resposta positiva!

Acidente em Wembley

Tecto terá descaído cerca de um metroEstaleiro do novo estádio de Wembley evacuado devido a problemas na cobertura 20.03.2006 - 11h13 Reuters, AP

Três mil trabalhadores das obras de construção do novo Estádio de Wembley, em Londres, foram retirados do local depois de o telhado da estrutura ter descaído um metro.
O sindicato de trabalhadores GMB disse à agência Associated Press que os operários ouviram "um enorme estrondo" e que relataram que parte do telhado tinha descaído cerca de um metro. Tom Kelly, do GMB, comentou: "Felizmente ninguém ficou ferido". A empresa responsável pela empreitada, a australiana Multiplex, confirmou que o local foi evacuado entre as 08h30 e as 08h50.O estádio inglês deveria estar pronto para a final da FA Cup, a 13 de Maio, mas a Multiplex já reconheceu que não pode garantir que as instalações estejam prontas nesse dia.
